Role Details
Overall purpose of role
The Red Team aim to conduct Adversarial Threat Emulations that are objective driven, to help the organisation make more informed risk decisions, while assessing the ability to protect what matters most, and help evaluate the company’s ability to detect and respond to adversarial threats.
Key Accountabilities
• Execute red team threat emulation activities against Barclays business units and the group as a whole.
• Ensure safe, quality and realistic adversarial threat simulations are delivered (either remotely or on-site) in line with red team service offerings.
• Work with peer security and technical teams to test and accelerate Barclays capabilities to secure its assets, environments and customers through threat centric thinking and collaboration.
• Provide technical findings and executive reports which highlight and clearly articulate identified strengths, gaps and opportunities in a way the targeted audience can understand and take prioritised action against.
• Support strategic partnerships across the group, to develop a trusting and collaborative working environment, utilising the niche adversarial perspective of the team.
Essential Skills
• Strong technical knowledge in security related domains.
• Knowledge and understanding of modern cyber threat actors, their motivation, scenarios, tools, tactics and procedures.
• Capability to be persistent and creative in solving complex and challenging problems.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex and challenging technical problems.
Desirable skills
• Experience / Training in adversarial threat emulation activities.
• Scripting Skills / Tools Development.
• Ability to act and communicate professionally to audiences at all levels, whilst remaining consistent on messaging.
• Capability in defined security domain(s) expertise.
